Quality Assurance Quality Assurance:

From the incoming raw material rheometer and tensile tests to the final dock audit before the finished products depart, Karman Rubber quality people closely monitor each phase of the manufacturing process. Our biannual calibration process insures that all of our lab instrumentation and plant equipment operates within the correct tolerance specifications. Our process controls are in compliance with ISO-9002 Standards, and our system of traceability insures the highest level of quality control. Karman Rubber believes that "Quality" is a journey that never ends.

Engineering & Compound Development Engineering & Compound Development:

Our engineers and chemists utilize up-to-date CAD software to design and construct new tooling and new elastomer formulas. They work closely with the customer at all stages of the development process. Their ideas and suggestions help to reduce the initial tooling costs and the long term pricing structure of the product. Karman Rubber chemists have formulated over 1000 different elastomer formulas. Molds that are designed and built at our plant give decades of dependable service.

Machine Shop
Machine Shop:

Our in-house machine shop, K&H Mold and Machine, is responsible for building new compression, transfer and injection molds. They also have the responsibility to maintain a tooling inventory of over 9,000 customer owned and Vibro-Insulator® product line molds. Normal response time for our price competitive prototyping service is from 2 to 4 weeks depending on the complexity of the part. Our machinists are able to hold tight tolerances working with all types of mold making equipment including CNC machines.

Compound Preparation
Compound Preparation:

Karman Rubber uses various types of equipment to process the uncured rubber compounds. This equipment is calibrated to insure that each preformed compound preparation is the correct size, weight, and density.

Press Room
Press Room:

Karman Rubber performs 3 distinct types of molding: 1) Compression, 2) Transfer, and 3) Injection. Each method of molding has specific benefits over the other. Our sales engineers are trained to help the customer choose the most cost-effective method of molding. Karman Rubber has over 60 presses with a variety of press sizes and capacities (from 14" to 42" platens). The Company also has backup systems for all critical equipment necessary for uninterrupted production. This insures our customer's delivery schedules are met.

Finishing Process
Finishing Process:

Karman Rubber goes through three stages in the final finishing process. Stage one uses state-of-the art cryogenic deflashing equipment to remove excess flash.
